Ed Sheeran scored a cameo role in the new season of the hit TV show, Game of Thrones, to simultaneous cheers and boos from the internet. The aggro is understandable, seeing as Sheeran hardly did any acting at all, after singing. He appeared to be a required part of the backdrop as conversation between Arya Starck and other Lannister soldiers swirled about him.
According to Co-showrunner David Benioff, this is why Sheeran had a cameo: “We knew that Maisie was a big fan of Ed Sheeran, and for years we’ve been trying to get him on the show so we can surprise Maisie. This year we finally did it.”
For most fans of the show, Game of Thrones just did something unforgivable. See below:

Ed Sheeran is so sweet, he turned Lannister soldiers into proper little gentlemen.#GameofThrones7 pic.twitter.com/d4cI7Han2A

And Ed Sheeran fit right in. He looked like he was from Westeros.
King of doing it all.

Only way to justify Ed Sheeran's #GameOfThrones cameo is for him to greet Bran with: "When your legs don't work like they used to before…"

Ed Sheeran's Game of Thrones introduction had all the grace and nuance as the time Alice and the gang at Mel's Diner met Jerry Reed

We’ve been cheated
Ed Sheeran appearing on game of thrones but not being brutally disemboweled was very disappointing
