While Uber has a reputation for delivering good services, their drivers on the other hand, are carving a reputation of being shady characters.

Several Uber drivers have been accused of assault and sexual molestation of female passengers.

Here are 5 instances of shady Uber drivers;

1. The victim in the latest assault is Sascha Pangallo, an Australian woman who shared her ordeal via a Facebook post. She accused an Uber driver of dragging her out of the car and running over her leg, after she failed to promptly respond to him, when asked for directions to her destination.

 

2. A Philadelphia woman said she was raped by an UberX driver on February 6. According to the woman, the driver drove her around for nearly two hours after the rape, refusing to let her out of the car.

 

3. In Washington DC, a woman said she passed out in the cab and when she woke up, the driver was rubbing her breasts. She then fell back asleep and woke up again to the sound of car doors locking. The cab had stopped and the driver was feeling her breasts and pulling down her underwear down to her knees.

 

4. Another driver from Delhi was accused of sexually molestation. The harassed woman alleged that after she got off the cab around 10.40 pm, the driver forcibly kissed her hand. Police said: “He wanted to shake hands with her and she offered her hand. He shook it and kissed it as well. However, when she tried to withdraw and pick up her bag, he tried to pull her towards him.”

 

5. An Uber taxi driver in Avalon, New Jersey got into the backseat of a car where a female passenger was sitting and began touching himself through his trousers. Unfortunately for him the woman filmed the incident on her mobile phone as the drive fondled himself while propositioning her.

The driver said to the woman; “God, I love your body. My god I love your body. Your body is beautiful,’ as he touched himself over his trouser.”

 

Perhaps, Uber needs to start looking out for sexually and mentally unstable drivers, while hiring.
