Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state says there is no room for the disintegration of Nigeria, as its unity cannot be renegotiated.

Oshiomhole said this on Saturday in Benin, the state capital, during the country’s 56th Independence Day celebration at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.

According to him the 1914 amalgamation of the then Southern and Northern protectorates was an act ‘ordained by God.’

Oshiomhole said, “I am not reluctant when I say and I wish to repeat it today that the unity of Nigeria is not negotiable. The unity of Nigeria cannot be renegotiated. It is not whether it is perfect or not perfect. I know of no nation that is perfect and our elite must rethink.”
