Earlier we brought you photos from the ongoing mayhem on the Onipan, Palmgrove road, Lagos.
The chaos reportedly started when a BRT bus hit a soldier on a bike this earlier this morning – The BRT driver was trying to overtake him on the BRT lane.
Irked by the occurrence, the soldiers torched some BRT buses in sight, shot sporadically, harassed commuters and also smashed phones of bystanders who tried to record their act.
The development has in the meantime caused a terrible gridlock, with some motorists and other Nigerians discussing the incident on social media.
The mayhem is still on and right now, BRT buses have been set on fire.
The BRT driver who hit the soldier is presently on the run; he allegedly ran into Palmgrove Estate in order to avoid the wrath of other soldiers present.
The security man
However, upon noticing that the driver ran away, the military men ran into Palmgrove Estate and seized one of the Estate’s security men.
According to eye-witnesses, the ‘innocent’ security man was beaten mercilessly.
He was released hours later badly beaten and traumatized.
