White House aide describes Tillerson’s statement on military matters as “nonsensical”

Sebastian Gorka, a White House aide has described as “nonsensical” Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s statement on the military.

Gorka who spoke to BBC Radio said Tillerson was in no capacity to talk about the military as it is not his mandate.

According to him, “The idea that Secretary Tillerson is going to discuss military matters is simply nonsensical,” “It is the job of Secretary Mattis, the secretary of defense, to talk about the military options, and he has done so unequivocally…That is his mandate. Secretary Tillerson is the chief diplomat of the United States, and it is not his portfolio to handle those issues.”

Tillerson who in a bid to douse tension arising from President Trump’s threat which said North Korea would face “fire and fury like the world has never seen” if it continues to threaten the United States had earlier on Wednesday en route to Guam, the U.S. territory in the Pacific that North Korea threatened this week to destroy with an “enveloping fire,” assured Americans to sleep with all eyes closed as there is no danger of imminent attack.

Obviously, the Secretary’s comment didn’t go down well with Gorka who insisted it was beyond Tillerson’s jurisdiction.
