The 8 members of the Peoples Democratic Party that won elections into the Lagos State House of Assembly have given assurance that they will not defect to the All Progressives Congress
After receiving their Certificates of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission in Lagos on Wednesday, the PDP members made the pledge.
Speaking on behalf of the PDP members was Dipo Olorunrinu, who said the eight of them would endeavor to work with their APC counterparts.
He said, “When we resume at the House, we will not be looking at party (politics) because we are looking at the general interest of the people of Lagos because it is paramount to us. We will be looking at the success of Lagos as a whole.
“On behalf of the PDP, I can tell you that we are too many to scatter and the rumour about us defecting remains a rumour. Of course you know, politics is all about rumours.”
