Members of the Boko Haram terrorist sect are involved in a shoot-out with soldiers in Aladuwari village, which is about 2 km away from Maiduguri, in Borno state.
Premium Times reports that residents and their children, are currently fleeing the area of the shoot-out.
The insurgents reportedly arrived the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) filling station at about 6pm and opened fire on motorists queuing for fuel, shortly after which the battle fight began.
Meanwhile, two female suicide bombers detonated explosives near FOMWAN school in Jiddari area of Maiduguri.
The casualty rate from the explosion that took place around 8pm on Sunday evening, is yet to be ascertained.
