Remember Syrian Omran Daqneesh? A 6-year-old American boy offers him a family (WATCH)

Do you remember Omran Daqneesh, the 5-year-old boy whose pictures went viral after his home in Aleppo was destroyed by airstrikes on the city?

Alex, a 6-year-old American boy has written a letter to U.S. President Barack Obama offering him a place in his family.

Obama quoted Alex’s words at the United Nations refugee summit.

“Dear President Obama, remember the boy who was picked up by the ambulance in Syria?” Alex wrote in a letter published by the White House.

“Can you please go get him and bring him to our home … we’ll be waiting for you guys with flags flowers and balloons. We will give him a family and he will be our brother.”

Omran’s pictures covered in dust and smears of blood after he survived the airstrike had sparked outrage around the world, with some regarding him as the face of Syria’s misery.

His parents and brother were however, not fortunate enough, as they lost their lives to the attack by rebels.
