President Trump’s recent announcement to reverse the Obama policy allowing transgender people to serve in the military, takes the world power off a scanty list of countries that allow individuals to serve in the armed forces regardless of what gender they choose to be identified as.
These are the countries that still allow transgender troops in military service;
- Netherlands
- Denmark
- Norway
- Australia
- Sweden
- Canada
- Czech Republic
- Israel
- Bolivia
- Thailand
- Spain
- Austria
- Finland
- Germany
- Belgium
- Estonia
- France
- United Kingdom
Netherlands became the first country to grant transgender people the right to serve in the military in any capacity in 1974.
