The All Progressives Congress is facing its share of the challenges a ruling party is confronted with, when in control of the center and in the majority at the parliament.
From infighting to power squabbles, the party is in enmeshed in more crisis than expected; barely a few months after the general elections.
Consequently, the APC has called for an emergency meeting of the National Working Committee, to hold between Monday and Tuesday.
During the meeting- which was summoned by the National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun- 4 major issues will be discussed, and possible addressed.
1. Ministerial list
The National Working committee of the APC will speak on the prospective ministerial list of President Buhari, specifically steps they can take to ensure that the party’s interest is protected in the cabinet.
2. El Rufai vs Osinbajo
The alleged disagreement between the governor of Kaduna state, Nasir el-Rufai and the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, will be another major talking point. The NWC is expected to determine if there is any truth to it, and proffer solutions.
3. Tinubu vs Saraki
It is widely believed that national leader of the party, Bola Tinubu is behind the ongoing trial of Bukola Saraki at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, even though the former has refuted having a hand in it.
The NWC is expected to wade into the matter, owing to the fact that the trial of Saraki, has further divided the party as well as its lawmakers.
4. Adams Oshiomohle vs Timipre Sylva
After the ill-fated Bayelsa governorship primary election, Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomhole had accused former governor Timipre Sylva of truncating the process.
Ever since, the pair have been locked on war of words in the media, hence, the NWC’s prerogative to settle their quarrel.
