Forty Nigerians were, on Wednesday, reportedly deported to Nigeria from the United Kingdom and Australia, making it the second time in a month that Nigerians will be deported from the UK.
The deportees, comprising 33 males and seven females, were sent back to their home country for committing various offences. They were said to have arrived the hajj camp area of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport by chartered aircraft at 7:25am.
According to a source at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), the Nigerians were deported for either over staying their visas or committing other immigration offences.
The deportees were received into Nigeria by the Police, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and the National Agency for Protection and Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
