President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday appointed Lawal Daura to be the new director general of the Department of State Security Service (DSS), after sacking Ita Ekpenyong.
Here are 5 things you need to know about him;
1. The Director of Communications in the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Alhaji Haruna Imrana, announced the appointment of Mr. Lawal Musa Daura as the Acting DG of the DSS.
2. He was recalled from retirement to be the DG of the SSS.
3. He had served as State Director of Security Service at different times in Kano, Sokoto, Edo, Lagos, Osun and Imo states.
4. He becomes the sixth director general of the SSS, one of the three security agencies created out of the defunct National Security Organisation in 1986.
5. He was at one time the Deputy Director, Presidential Communication, Command and Control Centre, at the presidential villa in Abuja between 2003 and 2007.
