Nope, we’re not even close to being broke – Adamawa APC boasts

by Ranti Joseph

The All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial campaign team on Tuesday in Adamawa state denied allegation that it is broke owing to a lack of funds from former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar – the leader of the party in the state.

The spokesperson of the campaign organisation, Uba Dan Arewa, refuted the reports, alleging that they were perpetrated by enemies of the party.

Arewa said some people, disturbed by the growing popularity of APC candidates in the state, were peddling rumours to create friction between the gubernatorial candidate of the party and its leader, Atiku Abubakar.

He said the campaign team had enough funds to continue its campaign. The campaign was previously suspended due to the postponement of the general elections.

“In Adamawa, it is clear that the people at the grassroots are with APC and have not been demanding money from the party during the campaign as is the case with other parties. Wherever we went during our campaigns it is the APC people in that area that organize things without collecting anything from the campaign organisation. The people believe in the APC movement as their own and have been contributing in their little way to its campaign. We also received support from well-wishers from outside the state, particularly from friends of our former Governor Murtala Nyako. APC is the party to beat and our candidates, particularly Buhari and Bindo Jibrilla are household names in Adamawa,” he said.
