It’s been only two days since Grammy award-winning singer, Adele announced in an emotional letter that she may never tour again but promised her fans two final shows in London’s Wembley Stadium.
It appears Adele will not be able to fulfil that promise as she has declared in another extremely heartwarming letter that her vocal cords have been damaged and will be unable to perform at the two final shows.
“I went to see my throat doctor this evening because my voice didn’t open up at all today and it turns out I have damaged my vocal cords. And on medical advice I simply am unable to perform over the weekend“, Adele wrote.
The ‘Hello’ singer who has been on the road for 15 months taking her 25 album project from Ireland to New Zealand, America and Europe performed her 120th and 121st shows at Wembley in the last two nights and was to round up with the last two to make 123 before returning home.
“To say I’m heart broken would be a complete understatement“, Adele expressed and added that she had considered miming on stage just to appear for her thousands of loyal fans who have travelled from across the world to watch her perform. She said, “I’m so desperate to do them that I’ve even considered miming, just to be in front of you and be with you. But I’ve never done it and I cannot in a million years do that to you. It wouldn’t be the real me up there“.
She finished off the letter with an apology: “I’m sorry. I’m devastated. I’m sorry. I love you I’m so sorry. please forgive me x”
Adele told fans that refunds will be made available in the event that there is no rescheduling.
