Not only did the Lagos Division of the Appeal Court uphold the election of Akinwunmi Ambode, his challenger, Jimi Agbaje, was fined and asked to compensate the respondents.
On Wednesday, the Court of Appeal affirmed the verdict of the Lagos State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal, and declared Ambode the bonafide winner of the April 11, 2015 governorship election in Lagos State.
Agbaje’s appeal was dismissed by the court on the grounds of incompetence.
The five-man appeal panel also ordered him to compensate each of the respondents in the sum of N50,000 each.
