A few months ago, before the All Progressives Congress came into power, almost every action of the Peoples Democratic Party-led government was criticised, lampooned and sometimes rubbished by the then-opposition party.
Whenever security agencies went after anyone in the camp of the APC, the party’s leaders, especially spokesperson Lai Mohammed, were quick to scream foul.
That the APC regularly ran to the media whenever there was a little problem, is an understatement.
Witch-hunt, blackmail, harassment- became the key words the former opposition party used in describing the actions of the PDP government of Goodluck Jonathan.

Alas! Tables have turned and APC, the pot, is now quick to say that PDP- the kettle, is black.
This hypocrisy was yet again exhibited on Monday, when the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, attempted to point out that President Buhari, was not selective in his war against corruption.
Lai Mohammed, Minister-Designate, stated that the new opposition party should stop being hysterical whenever its members are being investigated.
He also said the PDP evidently does not support Buhari’s anti-corruption campaign, owing to its refuge-seeking antics with the media, whenever there’s an issue.
”The ceaseless cry of selective anti-corruption battle is a bogey invented by the PDP to intimidate the anti-corruption agencies, and it will not work. It is the PDP’s strategy to stifle the fight against corruption.
”How can the PDP claim to support the anti-graft battle when every time any of its members is called in for questioning, it runs to the media to shout that the battle is ‘selective’? Is it possible that anyone who is invited for questioning will not belong to a party, an ethnic group or a certain faith?”
”Those who have nothing to fear must be willing to clear their names by honouring any invitation, and only the guilty needs be afraid.
The PDP must stop being hysterical over such invitations which are not going to stop simply because the opposition has called a press conference to cry wolf where there is none.”
