Before we begin this, let’s just lay it out there: we see the way the economy has been snailing out of recession. This morning, GTB traded the pound to 490 Naira. Somebody shout Hallelu…
Oh yes, 490 to the British Pound doesn’t exactly call for that level of excitement. We are still in a recession, aren’t we?
And that’s exactly how this APC administration (and even at State level, but that’s story for another day) has been do far. For every milestone they have achieved, there are at least four set backs that cancel it. Take for example, the release of the Chibok girls. As important an achievement as releasing close to half of the abducted school girls, the rate at which Boko Haram insurgents have been reclaiming grounds and wrecking havoc in the North East doesn’t make for the best score for the Buhari-administration on security. Meanwhile, the peace treaty with the Niger Delta militants seems to be coming apart at the seams faster that Acting President Osinbajo can manage with his already full hands.
Do we still need to talk about how absent President Buhari has been. He handed over power to his capable deputy, so what? Has he been less absent?
And the selective war against corruption?
Shall we even go on?
So when we saw this tweet from the APC, we figured: “finally, they get what we have been saying all along”.

Considering the fact that the APC has constantly maintained that President Buhari’s administration has been the best thing to happen to Nigeria since Agege bread, this admission is a step in the right direction.
Or is 2019 simply approaching faster than we thought.
