“Black Panther” star Winston Duke to play Kimbo Slice in biopic

Winston Duke

Reportedly, brawny, six-foot tall Winston Duke is going to put on de strength of der bleck penta in a biopic based on Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson, the badass street fighter and mixed martial artist who died from heart failure in 2016.

Slice was a superstar, and YouTube catalysed his fame after his street fight footages in Miami dominated the internet. This start-up propelled him towards a short but memorable career in MMA and professional boxing. And now, the big question is: Can Duke powerfully play the legendary wrestler’s life on screen?

While making us horny as M’baku and being the only heartwarming link to Nigeria, Duke was a delightful revelation. He commanded strength and power and don’t forget his territorial, anti-coloniser bark that seeped into racially-hued conversations on social media. Already, he has a physically imposing body and a beard to boot, which only needs to grow more inches longer, if you agree.

Titled Backyard Legend, this biopic will be the biggest test for the Tobagonian-American actor yet. After Black Panther, Duke reprised his role in Avengers: Infinity War. Those MCU movies are his first two major films, in addition to TV appearances on Modern Family and Person of Interest.
