Boko Haram: More than 1000 persons were abducted – Senate

The Senate on Tuesday said more than 1000 persons were under the captivity of terrorist group, Boko Haram.

The Upper Chamber urged those involved in the negotiations of the release of 21 Chibok girls to ensure that they rescue all others still in captivity.

Senate Leader, Ali Ndume said other abduction were not given media attention the way Chibok kidnapping was publicised.

He said, “The 219 girls are not the only girls that were abducted. Their number is not known but there are more than 1000 of them, I can bet on that. Some of them have gone unnoticed; some of them are missing; some of them, only God knows where they are and in what condition they have found themselves.”
