Following Monday’s attacks by Boko Haram insurgents on Damaturu, a 24-hour curfew has been imposed on the Yobe State capital.
This was announced in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the state Governor on Press Affairs and Information, Alhaji Abdullahi Bego, today.
According to a ego, Governor Ibrahim Gaidam approved the order in consultations with heads of law enforcement agencies in the state and the curfew is to take effect immediately.
Bego also said the decision was taken as part of measures to enable the security agents who did a great job repelling the insurgents attack on the town, to conclude their ongoing assignment.
The residents of the city were also advised to remain indoors during the curfew.
