Army spokesperson, Brig. Gen. Chris Olukolade has given details of the fight against Boko Haram in the North-eastern part of the country.
Olukolade addressed the press at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja today reeling out the progress made by the Nigerian troops in pushing back Islamic insurgents terrorizing citizens in the North-eastern state of Borno and its environs.
He appealed for the support of every citizen in the fight against Boko Haram saying, “Everybody is required to remain alert to ensure that we are not taken unawares by terrorist elements who might want to carry-out isolated attacks in any part of our country.”
He confirmed the death of the character generally known as Abubakar Shekau. He said the same person is known with such names as Bashir Mohammed, Abacha Abdullahi Geidam, Damasack and more.

My anger 2wards da nigerian army has calmed abit with da news I am hearing/reading about their sucses in da fight agaist boko haram insurgents in north-eastern part of our beloved country, I have alwaysed argeud dat da nigerian politicians where da 1s responsible 4 da failure of da armed forces 2 combat da insugents bt now dat boko haram has gained enough confidence 2 anex part of da coutry we see results. My fellow nigerians let’s pray n hope dat da insurgents whom have surrendered 2 da army will talk n we will c our girls return 2 us (Nigrian Armened Forces please don’t treat boko haram with kid gloves de must talk n give reliable information on da where about of da abducted girls n my anger at u will b no more. I SALUTE ur efforts
