The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Anambra State chapter, has asked the Federal Government to urgently relocate the Boko Haram prisoners in Ekwulobia prison to other places outside the South-east.
The call was contained in a communiqué issued by the body after a marathon meeting on Monday in Awka, Anambra.
State Chairman of CAN, Tim Okpala, said the relocation of the terror suspects poses a security threat to the lives and property in the state.
The communique said in part: “We condemn the act of bring insurgents to an ordinary prison like Ekwulobia Prison in Anambra state. We recommend that they be transferred to maximum security prisons in this country.
“We ask the Federal government as a matter of urgency to relocate the Boko Haram inmates to other places”.
