The police in Kano have averted another bomb blast in the city.
The State Police Commisioner who confirmed the situation said Police operatives discovered of a car – Peugeot 406 with registration number AA 513 ZAK – loaded with explosives at Shiek Isyaku Rabiu mosque, Goron Dutse.
Bomb experts were dispatched to the scene to neutralise the explosives. They did so immediately, and no casualty was recorded.
Some days ago in the same city of kano, residents of Sabon-Gari, were victims of a high capacity improvised explosive device (IED) which detonated at the New Road Motor Park in Sabon Gari, Kano, at around 3:00pm. One woman was confirmed dead and eight others sustained various degree of injuries.
The explosion at Sabon-gari happened barely 24-hours after All Progressive Congress Leader, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), escaped an explosion which was reportedly targeted at him. About 82 people were killed in the twin blast with several others injured.
