YNaija brings you more scoops from the forth coming Headies awards, formerly Hip-Hop Worlds Awards. An official statement from Smooth Promotions, the organizers of the annual awards gala revealed that awards presenters that evening will include former Super Eagles star player, Daniel Amokachi;  Nollywood actresses Kate Henshaw, Nse Ikpe Etim, Omoni Oboli, and Beverly Naya; Storm 360 boss, Obi Asika and popular Big Brother Africa host, IK Osakioduwa. Other presenters will also include, Jacob Akinyemi Johnson Tee A, Segun Shyllon, Deji Awokoya, Toni Payne and Funke Kuti.

“What we have done is pick the biggest and brightest from different spheres of the Entertainment industry. On the list we have great achievers and promising minds from football, comedy, music, behind the scene, radio, movies and TV” Ayo Animashaun who started the awards in 2006 said.

Animashaun also revealed that joining the long list of performers which already had Ice Prince, MI, Tiwa Savage, Waje, Muna, Omawumi, Dr. Sid, Olamide, Banky W and Sound Sultan, will be, Juju Veteran, Sir Shina Peters.

In addition, this year’s list of presenters accommodates personalities from M-NET Africa’s esteemed soap operas- Tinsel and Jacob’s Cross. Cast members Matilda Obaseki, Gideon Okeke and Kendra will make their debut at the 6th edition of the Headies.

Others on the presenting list will be on air Personalities Dan Foster of Inspiration FM, Oreka Godis of The Beat 99.9, Matse of 93.9 Nigeria info and Rhythm 93.7FM’s Bigtime and Omoye Uzamere; Chika Nwobi (Mtech), Ebuka Obi Uchendu, Juniper Musa, Ropo, Kaffy and Joseph Benjamin. Kween, Lara George, Big Bamo, Djinee, Weird MC, Kefee, Olu Maintain, Yinka Davies, Tiwa Savage and Sasha will also be presenting awards to their peers.

The 2011 Headies is scheduled for Saturday October 22 at the new Expo Hall of Eko Hotel and Suites.
