A bomb explosion haS occurred near the official bus of Dortmund FC team in Germany, injuring one player, police has said.

The explosions which reportedly happened at Schirrmannweg and Wittbraucker Strasse has injured Spanish centre-back, Marc Bartra.

The team was approaching the stadium for a Quarter-final clash against Monaco FC in the UEFA Champions League.

Windows were broken during the explosion, according to a statement from Dortmund police.

The club has asked those in the stadium to remain calm as it investigates, adding that emergency workers were at the scene.

“We will inform you as soon as there is news,” the club added in a tweet.
