The Supreme Court has upheld the election of Nyesom Wike, as the Governor of Rivers State.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday, affirmed the result of the April 11 governorship election on Wednesday, while failing to state the reasons for the judgment.
The court promised to provide detailed reasons for the verdict on February 12.
Following the Rivers Election Tribunal’s nullification of Wike’s election, the Court of Appeal had on December 16 reaffirmed the decision.
But with the Supreme Court’s ruling, the All Progressives Congress candidate, Dakuku Peterside, has finally lost his bid to unseat Wike as governor.
