Buhari to meet with Obama over economy, security

President Muhammadu Buhari will meet with U.S. President Barack Obama in New York on Tuesday to discuss security and economic changes, the White House said Friday.

The meeting will be on the sidelines of the 71st UN General session, which will be attended by President Buhari.

The two leaders will also discuss the government’s efforts in the fight against extremist group, Boko Haram.

The White House said Obama will be hosting a summit on refugee and is expected to press more nations to open their borders and help double the number of refugees who are resettled around the world.

On Monday, President Obama will hold discussions with Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, on the progress made in countering the Islamic State group, ISIS.
