Political associate of the president, Brigadier General Lawal Jafaru Isa (rtd) has reportedly returned N100 million out of the money he received from the former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki.
Isa, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress chieftain was arrested last Wednesday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after N170 million out of the diverted $2.1 billion from the ONSA, was traced to his account.
He was arrested on Wednesday by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, at his Asokoro residence in Abuja.
According to Premium Times, Isa has pledged to subsequently return the remaining N70 million.
“We let him go after returning the sum of N100million. We are expecting him to return the rest soon.”
“We offered them the chance of returning the money honourably but they keep deploying tactics to avoid prosecution, while also going away with the loot,” a source was quoted to have said.
