Guus Hiddink maintained his 100% English FA Cup record with Chelsea, as The Blues made light-work of Manchester City’s inexperienced side in a game that ended 5-1 in favor of the Fulham-based club from Southwest London.
Manchester City who had a Champions League date with Dynamo Kiev during the week, decided to play a virtually inexperienced side while Chelsea fielded a full strength squad.
Expectedly, Chelsea dominated proceedings and duly got the lead through Diego Costa.
However, Manchester City’s attacker David Faupala scored a late equalizer in the first-half.
Willian however, restored Chelsea’s lead in the second half with a 48th minute strike.
This opened the floodgates for Guus Hiddink’s men as Cahill 53′, E. Hazard 67′, B. Traoré 89′, ran a 3 goal rout on City’s defence to make it 5-1 even after Oscar had missed a penalty late in the game.
