The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has said efforts are being made by the Air Force on a daily basis to locate the missing Chibok girls.
Abubakar said the NAF has intensified surveillance to rescue the girls from their captors.
Abubakar stated this on Friday at the inauguration of the third Alpha jet which was reconfigured by a team of local engineers at the 99 Air Combat Training Group, Kainji, Niger State.
He said the aircraft which was originally not meant for combat was reconfigured for combat operations and immediately deployed to the North-east.
Abubakar stated that the Air Force would soon launch a major operation against pipeline vandalisn in the Niger Delta with the Alpha jets and other platforms.
He said, “We intend to organize a major exercise in the South-south very soon using this alpha jets and other assets.
“That is right, we are working round the clock to ensure that we put together what is required so that we could achieve the best of the exercise.
“That is not to say that we don’t have platforms right now in the South-south. We still have the Alpha jets flying there now and the ones that are monitoring our gas and oil infrastructure on daily basis to make sure that we keep a close watch on what is going on there.”
