Nollywood leading men, Desmond Elliot and Mike Ezuruonye both at separate times, turned down offers of starring in ‘Law 58’ the upcoming movie about same sex relationships. Producer of the film, Dickson Iroegbu revealed in a chat with Information Nigeria.org

‘’I approached actors like Mike Ezuruonye and Desmond Elliot but they screamed and turned down the offer to star in the movie. For whatever reason they refused, I don’t know.’’

He continued, ‘’When I saw the national assembly debate on gay marriage, I thought it was prophetic because at the time I produced the movie, we hadn’t engaged ourselves constructively on how to address the issue.’’

Law 58 is based on a true life story and throws light on gay practices in the country and it’s devastating effects on the society at large. It stars Kanayo.O. Kanayo, Clarion Chukwurah, Halima Abubakar and Ghanian Kofi Adjorlolo.

Law 58 will be released on DVD this February.
