MTN Lagos Street Soccer finals held on Sunday, October 13 2013 at the Campos Mini Stadium in Lagos Island where ‘Kukere’ singer Iyanya performed at the closing ceremony with his female dancers on stage.
According to sources, Lagos State Deputy Governor, Orelope Adefulire who graced the event, was surprised at the way Iyanya’s dancers were dressed in revealing sheer leggings, dancing provocatively in front of the crowd.
It was gathered that the Deputy Governor called them aside and scolded them for their behavior, telling them their acts were degrading to womanhood.
The conversation between the Deputy Governor and the dancers goes something like this:
Deputy Governor: I guess you are professional dancers?
Iyanya’s dancers: Yes ma!
Deputy Governor: If you must entertain without pants on, certainly not in a gathering like this. Just see how you are disgracing and degrading womanhood. Don’t try it again.
Iyanya’s dancers: Yes ma!
