Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State on Monday has appointed Folashade Jaji as the state’s 18th Head of Service.
The state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Aderemi Ibirogba, who made the disclosure in Ikeja, said the appointment took immediate effect. Ibirogba said Jaji was until her appointment by the governor, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Establishment and Training.
He said Jaji’s appointment followed the retirement of the immediate past Head of Service, Oluseyi Williams, on February 14 after spending 35 years in service.
Ibirogba described the new Head of Service as an experienced technocrat, who had made immense contributions to the public service. “Jaji was until her appointment the most senior permanent secretary and this means her appointment was based on merit. She is a very committed public servant and a likable personality. We are confident that she will do her best to further strengthen the state’s civil service,” he said.
Jaji was born on March 10, 1957. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from the University of Lagos and also has a Master’s of Business Administration from the same university.
