FG won’t reverse sack of 13 Vice Chancellors – Minister of Education

The Federal Government has stated that in spite the protests from different civil societies and group, its decision to sack 13 Vice Chancellors appointed by the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, will not be rescinded.

The government on Saturday, February 13 announced the sack of 13 Vice Chancellors of institutions across the nation- a decision which gave rise to discontent and rancour within the academic circle.

The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, while speaking on the Vice Chancellors’ sack at the flag off of the 2015/2016 annual school census in Abuja on Thursday, expressed the resolve of the Federal Government to stick with its decision.

The minister said: “Do you reverse government decision simply because somebody has criticised them? I don’t think there is any decision of government not going down well with everyone in the country.”

“The ministry has received communications from some people who feel like this and we are looking at this.”

“What I am saying is that they have already written to us. We are looking into their complaints. We will reply them.”
