A Nigerian medical doctor and visual hyper-realism artist named Fola David has announced his goal of becoming the person with the ‘Largest Drawing by an Individual’ on the Guinness World Record.
His drawing, titled “Unity in Diversity,” will take on the shape of the map of Nigeria as it displays the rich and various cultures across an 850 sqm canvas.
The drawing challenge will take place over six days as it will begin on July 16th at the Lagos Onikan Stadium and end on July 21st.
“I am doing this drawing not only as a reflection of our cultural identities but also as a medium for building understanding and unity among diverse Nigerian tribes, thereby promoting peaceful coexistence in my country,” Fola David said.
The present holder of the Guinness World Record for the Largest Drawing by an Individual is Ravi Soni, an Indian with a 629.98 sqm (6,781.04 square feet) drawing titled “Tree of Life”, and was completed within 24 hours and 33 minutes in 2022.
