There was pandemonium at the Roundabout in Ilesa on Friday as some people believed to be Aregbesola agents gave out shirts and key holders to people.
The handouts were brought in a police pick-up van, which was driven by a policeman. The van packed by the road near the Ilesa Central Mosque and someone got out and began to hand the materials to passers-by while the policeman who drove the van watched the road.
Soon, other passers-by and onlookers noticed what was going on and rushed to get a share of what was being distributed. Vehicles stopped and some okada riders tried to get to the van. All this frenzy blocked traffic for some time.
Our journalist asked the policeman about those people he came with and why they were distributing the items. He snubbed, and they quickly drove off as soon as the materials finished.
On Thursday in Osogbo, thousands of Omisore supporters queued to get some cash from the Omisore Youth Support Group (OYSF).
One student of the Esa Oke polytechnic told our journalist that supporters of the APC and PDP were on their campus this week to give food packs to students.
So far, people of the Omisore camp and the Aregbesola camp have doled out cash and other gifts as part of campaign for this election.
