Rivers State is in the news for violence again.
Gunmen have invaded the premises of the Rivers state judiciary complex in Port-Harcourt, killing two private security officials stationed at the court and injuring another.
The gunmen were said to have attacked the court premises last night, resulting in the closure of the institution.
State security agents have been deployed to the court complex.
Rivers state have been in the eye of the storm recently as the state has witnessed several violent acts (include cult clashes and raise in militancy) that have led to the death of several persons, including an NYSC member.
The state is oil rich and has witness power struggle between the Rotimi Amaechi led All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Nyesom Wike led Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Many have posited that the violence is politically motivated as both political parties fight for control of the state that generates much of Nigerians revenue.
The February 2016 National Assembly rerun election in the state, which pitied the APC against the PDP, saw more death in the state than ever before. However, both parties have accused each other of being behind the attack.
