Ila Adu daughter of multiple award winning musician Sade Adu has begun her gender transition.

The 20-year-old, who is a lesbian was diagnosed with gender dysmorphia and has begun her transition from a female to a male.

Ila made the announcement on her Instagram account on Tuesday.

She wrote, “Today is the first day of the rest of my life 04/10/16… #shotday #firstshot #finally #ftm#selfmademan #transman #proud#yaaassss”.

Sade Adu, a four-time Grammy winner is yet to make her statement on Ila’s decision.
