Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai has reiterated that he has no ambition to run for President in 2019.
El-Rufai said when he appeared as a guest on Hard Cover on Channels TV on Friday.
The governor said he has always been accused of wanting to run for President since 2007 which made late President Umar Yar’adua exile him.

He added that former President Goodluck Jonathan also persecuted him because he saw him as a threat.
El-Rufai also said he never wanted to be governor but President Muhammadu Buhari asked him to contest.
He said, ” I have never wanted to run for President. I never wanted to run for governor until President Buhari asked me to.”
When asked if he would run for President if Buhari asks him to, he said, “I’ll look at it when the time comes. It is not something I have given a thought to because I don’t care.
“I have no political ambition, I never had. Every government job I have done, I was chosen on the basis of competence.”
Recall that after his memo to Buhari was leaked, there had been accusations that he plans to contest the Presidential election in 2019.
