Insiders: It is time for the Lion King to quit the political stable

Insiders gave their opinions on the poetic exchange between the wife of the President, Aisha Buhari and Senator Shehu Sani. She stated that “God has answered the prayers of the weaker Animals, the Hyenas and Jackals will soon be sent out of the kingdom. We strongly believe in the prayers and support of the weaker animals. Long live the weaker animals, long live Nigeria.”

“I think such conversation should have been kept private, but I want to believe it was deliberately made public because it was intended to send a signal to those tagged as Hyenas and Jackals. I still believe they could have expressed themselves clearer and in more printable terms than the animal kingdom allusion they chose. If those in the corridor of power could be lamenting about hyenas, it shows the President is not fully in charge, the nation is in a serious problem and the centre could not even hold. With time, all will be audible to the deaf and visible to the blind,” said an Insider with the Labour Party.

“Her statement is borne out of political hysteria, I think. Is she referring to those who kept her away from her husband or a different set of desperate politicians? But let us just advise her, it is time for the Lion King to quit the political stable. Aisha should be telling us when the King will leave the throne to take care of his health” said an Insider with the PDP

Another Insider with the APC mused that, “One wonders why all the hyperventilation on what Hajia Aisha said….. Of course, Senator Shehu Sani sent out a subliminal message using allegory and she returned the sub with her own allegory. No big deal.”

An Insider with the PDP surmised that, “These are people who do not even appreciate what a democracy is, because of this; they always believe that their views and aspirations are superior to that of every other Nigerian, and they feel that they have an entitlement to power. They do not see themselves as caretakers or servants… so one can imagine her mindset. Indeed it is a metaphor, and irony that she can liken Nigerians in that manner. It is not surprising though that these are the type of people that have been ruling the country since the sixties. There is no doubt that these people cannot deliver to us a great nation.”

Another Insider also with the PDP stated that, “It exposes the mindset of the First Lady towards Nigerians. Before now we did not know how they talk about us or what they felt about Nigerians, but that statement from Aisha which was a response to Senator Shehu Sani’s comment exposes the mindset of Aisha Buhari and her husband towards Nigerians. Her husband before had actually called Nigerians baboons, her husband had once said that all Nigerians are corrupt. It just goes to show that these people, no matter the façade that they are connected to the people, that they are talakawas, these family has now openly shown us that they do not regard us as humans. If they can use such irresponsible and reckless words to describe the people who voted them to power.”

That really breaks my heart said another Insider, “The times are too sensitive, we need to step back a bit from our own different affinities, our own interest, to say, hey if this country blows up, we are all going to be in trouble, everybody, even if you are rich or poor, we are all going to be in trouble. The main thing right now that we need to step back a bit”.

An insider with the Labour Party succinctly stated that, “If Aisha Buhari described the people as the weaker animals, we should be grateful, the weaker animals are vulnerable.”
