Former Governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has been screened by the Senate.
The ministerial nominee was the subject of a mild controversy between the Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio and Majority Leader, Ali Ndume.
Akpabio had insisted that the Peoples Democratic Party senators had no question for Amaechi, pending the report of the Ethics Committee, on the petitions filed against him.
Ndume responded saying that Amaechi should be allowed to bow and go, since there were no questions for him.
This led to a rancorous discussion in the house, after which, it was resolved that Senators of the All Progressives Congress, should ask Amaechi some questions.
After being asked several questions by the APC Senators, Amaechi was allowed to bow and go.
