The Nigerian Senate has begun the screening of ministerial nominations at today’s plenary.
Barrister Adebayo Shittu, from Oyo state is the first nominee to take the podium.
While addressing the senate, Shittu pledged that if confirmed as minister, he will not disappoint the senate and the people.
He was quizzed by Senators Enyinnaya Abaribe, Francis Alimikhena, Gbenga Ashafa, Ighoyota Amori among others.
Shittu was asked questions on religious intolerance, policy directions for change, views in curbing youthful excessiveness and restlessness, election, tribunal cases and reconciliation processes.
After answering all the questions asked of him, Senate finally asked Shittu to bow and take his leave.
