The Nigeria Football Federation have asked foreign-based players who were invited for the World Cup qualifier against Zambia to buy their flight tickets, African Football reports.
According to reports, the NFF has promised to reimburse the players upon arrival to Abuja.
It has also been gathered that the players are being owed several match bonuses and other allowances.
One of the players who spoke on the development said, “This is not good for our morale going into a big game lie the one in Zambia”.
It was learnt that the players camp allowances last month’s AFCON qualifier in Uyo were paid by the Akwa Ibom State government.
There were reports that the NFF could not afford to sponsor the team for the qualifiers.
However, the football body had denied such reports.
Of the 23 players invited by Gernot Rohr, 20 are based overseas.
