Troops of the Nigerian Army are currently involved in a ‘fierce battle’ with Boko Haram insurgents in Borno state.
Colonel Sani Usman, spokesperson of the army, revealed this in a statement put out on Monday morning.
The specific location of the gun fight between the insurgents and troops of 113 Battalion, is said to be – Kareto, which is in the northern part of Borno.
“Please be informed that our troops are currently engaged in fierce battle with Boko Haram terrorists. Details later”, Colonel Usman said.
“The troops have been battling the insurgents since early hours of today. Details to follow shortly”, the statement added.
