While the cause of his death is yet to be known, a few persons have speculated that the Senator died from coronavirus complications while others claimed it was a heart attack. None of this, however, is yet to be verified.
For those who pointed out that he had died from the virus, they used the opportunity to remind the many Nigerians who believe that the virus does not exist or is not in Nigeria that the coronavirus is very real as they urged Nigerians to stay safe and away from public places.
An unconfirmed report said that Pepperito died of #COVID19 complications. https://t.co/1tPGfg36kk

While many used the opportunity to remind themselves that life is short and anyone can die at any moment, others shared some political points as it concerned the position he held before he passed on. A few people, however, pointed out that he may not have been very impactful to his constituency while he was alive and hearty.
I used to laugh at his name "Pepperito" as a funny choice of name for a politician.

With the kind of brute force he deployed to win that ticket from Ashafa and enthrone his other candidates, if only pepperito knew he won't even last the term, he probably would have had a different approach to life.

If we ask what was his contribution (s) to governance since he was in house of representatives and senator now, they will say we should not talk about the dead. #pepperito

Shame on you, death! A huge loss to Lagos State, especially his constituent Zone B Senatorial District of Lagos East.
No doubt you'll forever be missed by all and sundry, the invincible Pepperito, himself.
Continue to rest in power, our very own Senator Bayo Sikiru Osinowo. pic.twitter.com/tCg7O4SDRP

‘Pepperito,’ who passed on at the age of 64, was a 4-time lawmaker at the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Kosofe Constituency before he won a Senate seat at the National Assembly in February 2019. He was subsequently appointed as the Chairman, Senate Committee on Commerce, Industry, and Investment.
Bad news spread so fast. Just where I'm standing here, this man has called about 10 people already to tell them Pepperito is dead.
