Senator Buruji Kashamu, representing Ogun East Senatorial district, has been sacked as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Ogun state nullified Kashamu’s election victory as well as that of a federal lawmaker, representing Ijebu East /Ijebu North /Ogun waterside, Adekoya Adesegun.

Five members of the Ogun state assembly were also sacked by the tribunal on Friday, over non-compliance of electoral law.

Consequently, the tribunal, headed by Justice Ebiowei Tobi, has directed that a new round of elections should take place in 110 polling units.
