Over 100 people were burned to death on the eve of Christmas in Nnewi, Anambra state, when an industrial gas plant suddenly exploded.

Several people died after being trapped inside the factory of Inter Corp Oil limited(LPG Gas Plant), a subsidiary of Chikason Group.

The customers who went to the gas plant to get a refill were also burned to death while some of the victims who were in the neighborhood and surroundings of the gas plant also got caught in the inferno.

The few lucky victims, who are severely burnt, have been taken to Nnamdi Azikwe University Teaching Hospital, NAUTH, Nnewi.
