A 13-year-old girl wearing an explosives-packed vest has been caught and arrested in Kano.

She was caught hours after an attack by two female suicide bombers.

The Vanguard reports that the girl turned up at a clinic on the outskirts of Kano hours after a double bombing at a market in the city.

“The people there called the attention of security personnel who found explosives primed for a suicide attack on her,” said a security source, who requested anonymity, in an account confirmed by a nurse at the clinic.

At least 31 persons were confirmed dead in the twin bomb blast that rocked the market yesterday.

The bombing took place around Mr Biggs roundabout on Ahmadu Bello Way, Pam Ayuba, the spokesman for area Governor Jonah Jang confirmed.
