The results of the Presidential and House of Assembly elections are still being collated by the Independent National Electoral Commission, but in the meantime, we bring to you the winners and losers from the election process so far as well as from the results that have been announced.
WINNERS
1. Bukola Saraki
For consolidating his strong hold on Kwara by winning the Kwara Central Senatorial District.
2. Ayo Fayose
For maintaining his grip on Ekiti state, where the Peoples Democratic Party cleaned out the state.
3. Governor Theodore Orji
The Abia state governor won the election to represent Abia Central Senatorial District in the Senate.
4. Princess Stella Oduah
The former Minister of Aviation clinched the Anambra North Senatorial seat.
5. Hon. Dino Melaye
The All Progressives Congress politician won the Kogi West Senatorial District election.
OTHER WINNERS
6. Goodluck Jonathan
For his maturity and patience in handling the initial Card Reader glitch when he was casting his vote on Saturday, in Bayelsa.
7. Attahiru Jega
The INEC Chairman has so far stayed calm under immense pressure since the election commenced, especially when the Card Readers’ problem sought to overshadow the success of the polls.
LOSERS
1. Babangida Aliyu
For losing the Niger East senatorial seat to the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, David Umaru.
2. John Oyegun
Surprisingly, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress was not influential enough to deliver his ward to the APC.
3. Olusegun Mimiko
The presidential candidate of the APC, Muhammadu Buhari, won Ondo state despite the fact that the governor, Olusegun Mimiko, belongs to the PDP.
4. Governor Jonah Jang
The Governor of Plateau state lost his bid to cross over the Senate after his tenure ends.
5. President Goodluck Jonathan
For losing the Presidential Villa votes to his main challenger, Muhammadu Buhari.
OTHER LOSERS
6. INEC
For the embarrassment that the president suffered in the hand of the Card Reader’ while trying to get his accreditation done on Saturday.
7. Boko Haram
For attempting to disrupt the elections and attacking polling units in Bauchi state.
