Former Head of State, Shehu Usman Aliyu Shagari, turned 90 today February 25 and he marked it in style.

President Goodluck Jonathan and former Head of States including Ibrahim Babangida, Ernest Shonekan, Abdulsalami Abubakar, Obasanjo and Yakubu Gowon were at the celebration held in his honour in Sokoto state

Shagari, was born February 25, 1925.

He served as the President of Nigeria ifrom 1979 – 1983. He worked as a teacher for a brief period before entering politics in 1954 upon his election to the federal House of Representatives.
